abstract the essential oil obtained by hydrodistillation of the aerial parts of ferulago angulata (schlecht.) boiss. (umbelliferae), growing wild in khorasan province in iran, were analyzed by gc and gc-ms. twenty compounds representing 98.1 % of the aerial parts oil of ferulago angulata were identified, of which ot-phellandrene (24.2 %), ss-phellandrene (14.9 %), ot-pinene (14.7 %) and p-cymene (10.3 %) were the major ones, other major component of the oil were ^o-3-carene (6.7 %) and (z)-ss-ocimene (5.8 %). aerial parts oil of the plant consist of monoterpenes (97.6 %) and one oxygen containing sesquiterpene (0.5 %). monoterpene hydrocarbons (90.8 %) were the major constituents. key words: ferulago angulataessential oilgc-msot-phellandrene
