the water distilled leaf oils of the two mauritian medicinal plants artemisia verlotiorum lamotte and ambrosia tenuifolia sprengel, were examined by gc and gc/ms. the oil of artemisia verlotiorum which was obtained in 1.7% yield contained 22 identified constituents representing 77.8% of the oil with germacrene d (23.6%) as the major component. ambrosia tenuifolia (1.32% yield) contained 32 components representing 99.2% of the oil with -thujone as the major component (79.3%).
