abstract the chemical composition of the hydrodistilled fruit oil of biota orientalis (l.) endl, was examined by gc and gc/ms. of the 25 constituents present in the oil, 17 were identified in which eight were monoterpene hydrocarbons (88.4%), four oxygenated monoterpenes (3.4%), three sesquiterpene hydrocarbons (2.1%), and two oxygenated sesquiterpenes (3.0%); -pinene was the major constituents of the oil. key word index: biota orientalis cupressaceaeessential oil composition-pinene
