abstract dormant vegetative slips of jamrosa were subjected to various doses of gamma-rays. plants raised from them were screened with a view to isolate improved clones of the crop. five mutant clones isolated, exhibited variation in quality/quantity of essential oil. these changes in oil characters were attributed to microlevel mutations induced by gamma-rays.
