abstract the essential oil obtained by hydrodistillation of inflorescence parts of eryngium paniculatum cav. (apiaceae), caraguat'a, growing in argentina was analyzed by gc and gc/ms. seventeen constituents were identified, of which (e)-anethole (52.6%) and -pinene (19.1%) were the major components.
