Abstract
abstract the essential oil obtained by steam distillation of the roots of zanthoxylum syncarpum was analyzed using gc (retention indices), gc/ms and nmr spectroscopy. the major components found in the oil were guai-6(7)-en-11-ol (38.1%) and trans--guaiene (20.3%).
